About the Artists

CERAMICS BY PAUL AND SUE


Paul has been working with Ceramics since he was 17 years old, over 40 years.  Starting as a mould maker in the production of thin walled, small diameter, highly pourous tubes for the early battery industry.  Upon moving to Spain he started working with clay to produce decorative and functional objects, mostly connected with the kitchen. 

Sue started working with ceramics as a way to releave stress following a bereavement.  This is one of the key benefits of working with clay and we urge people to come and have a go.

SOAP AND SHAMPOO BY SUE

Sue has been making soap and shampoo for many years having first learnt this skill from the local women in the village.

She now focusses her attention on producing high quality Castille Soap from our own olive oil and natural ingredients found either in our garden or the local environment.

OLIVE OIL AND WINE TASTING

Paul is qualified in both wine and olive oil tasting.

Taking his passion for wine from simply drinking for pleasure to become one of the qualified guides to Riojan wines.  He has then used this knowledge to produce guides and tasting notes for the local red and white wines of The Region of Murcia as well as other famous regions in Spain.


Having approximately 8000 sq M of land, mostly set to Cuquillo Olives, has led Paul into the field of Olive Oil tasting.  Having trained with one of the best chefs and olive oil experts in Spain, Firo Vazquez, Paul qualified from the University of Murcia as an olive oil somilier in 2023
